This book deals with the omitted variable test for a multivariate time-series regression model. The empirical motivation is the homogeneity test for a consumer demand system. The consequences of using a dynamically misspecified omitted variable test are shown in detail. The analysis starts with the univariate t-test and is then extended to the multivariate regression system. The small sample performance of the dynamically correctly specified omitted variable test is analysed by simulation. Two classes of tests are considered: versions of the likelihood ratio test and the robust Wald test which is based on a heteroskedasticity and autocorrelation consistent variance-covariance estimator (HAC).

The work deals with consent to the medical treatment of minors. The issue of consent to medical interventions and the prerequisites for their effectiveness is a pivotal point in medical law. Questions about consent are of particular practical relevance when the patients are children and young people. This is an unregulated topic in German law, on which a large number of different legal opinions can be found. Austrian and Swiss law are included in the study for comparative purposes. Due to the lack of legal standardization and in view of the inconsistent case law, there is a not inconsiderable legal uncertainty in Germany. At the same time, jurisprudence and literature in the field of civil law and in the field of criminal law threaten to diverge after the liability senate of the Federal Court of Justice only granted a minor patient a right of veto, despite the ability to make judgments and give consent, but not sole decision-making authority. This raises the question of the need for a uniform assessment of consent as a ground of justification in civil and criminal law. This problem of the primacy of the unity of the legal order is examined both in the field of national law and in the field of international private and criminal law.

Gravelotte-St-Privat was probably the hardest fought of all the battles of the Franco-Prussian War. Attacked by superior Prussian forces from both the First and Second armies, Marshal Bazaine's French Army of the Rhine inflicted heavy casualties on the advancing Prussian's before finally being forced to retreat into the fortress city of Metz. Unable to break out and with no hope of relief Bazaine's army grimly held on to the end of the war. French failure at Gravelotte-St-Privat led directly to their final defeat at Sedan, the collapse of Napoleon III's regime and the proclamation of the German Empire.

Writings pertaining to European and international private, banking and commercial law] Europeanization and internationalization challenge the realm of jurisprudence to an extraordinary degree. The division in special fields and the relationship with other social sciences necessitate critical reevaluation in view of many interactions. Cross-references between commercial law regulation and private, autonomous arrangement distinctly show this development. Jurisprudence emerging beyond Germany has to deal with such challenges. The law of financial services serves as an example of the cross-section material from private law and (public) commercial law. This takes into account the series at hand in terms of content and method. In addition to banking, capital market and financial law as the main emphasis, corporate law, competition & cartel law, intangible property rights, insolvency law and also labor law show similar overlaps.
